71,000 miles from new with most service history and old MOT`s, last service ( oil and filter change) 2 months ago, all lights still on service indicator.2.8 litre, smooth straight 6 cylinder engine 5 speed manual gearboxPower hood ( brand new last week) one button to press no locks or catches to release.Cloth interior in superb condition no bolster wear on the drivers seat as is so common on BMW`s. Rear seats hardly used.Power windows, 1 touch drop, also 1 button to drop all four at the same time.Original BMW alloys and 1 spare set of 5 original alloys (with tyres) also included in the sale.Bodywork in excellent condition scuff to off side rear bumper as can be seen in the photo, but otherwise in amazing condition for a 14 year old car.I originally took this car in part exchange and planned to sell immediately, just loved driving it so much I ended up keeping it for 3 years.I am only selling this appreciating classic as I am starting a new business and need some cash.This car had the BMW engine recall work done when it had covered 28,000 miles so arguably the engine has barely done 40,000 miles.The car has just had a brand new hood fitted which cost £700.When it was serviced earlier in the year the car had new front discs and pads fitted. our favourite 1980’s sports coupes – a BMW 635 CSi Automatic, this one a genuine Highline, finished in Dolphin Grey Metallic with full grey leather trim, including, being a Highline, nappa leather to the dash, door cards, headlining, centre console etc. This one is from the last few months of production, and is on a G-plate, so one of the last. The plate is also nice in that the numbers are ‘635’. It’s had one driver (a mechanic) since 2004, and the service history comprises 21 service stamps, 14 of them BMW main dealer, and every MOT back to 1996 It is fitted with full ‘shadowline’ exterior trim, full highline interior trim, plus the usual switchable automatic transmission, air conditioning, sports seats, electric sunroof/windows/mirrors, central locking, trip computer, rear spoiler, M-tech steering wheel, rear headrests. Also fitted with a super set of 17in genuine BMW motorsport alloys, M-tech seat trims and badging, and radio/tape/CD with electric aerial. Odometer reading 172000 miles. Comes with MOT to Feb 2011, and road tax to end September 2010 too, so it’s ready to go! on test on arrival it performed very well indeed. I’ve done over 600 miles in it without any problems. Further detail: The body on this one is pretty good really for it`s age, especially around the front wing area - I suspect it`s had replacement front wings fitted at some point. . The paintwork is generally good from the B-posts forward, however the paint to the rear wings, bootlid and rear bumper isn`t great. The bootlid and rear bumper must have been repainted (colour match is OK it`s just a poor job and is somewhat flat) and so apart from that and the usual minor stonechipping, age-related blemishes and marks, all I can really criticise is: some microblistering on the bonnet, both ends of the front bumper top trim have `lifted slightly ( a common issue on late ones), 2 areas of discoloured laquer on the NSR wing, and some rust bubbling on the rear number plate panel. . See the video below for a full appraisal of the bodywork Interior – very nice overall, might benefit from a valet. Being a Highline everything`s there, and it`s all in pretty good shape. Drivers seat bolsters scuffed as you`d expect, but not holed. . See the video below for a full appraisal of the interior Started on the button and performed nicely while on test- didn`t display any signs of overheating, misfiring, or hesitancy etc, or emit any expensive-sounding groans, knocks or clunks etc on test - just performed very well all round. . All I can criticise is a) the temperature gauge isn`t working (no sign of coolant loss or overheating though), and the heater blower motor only works on full (unless the A/C is switched on) - a common issue with these. Slight shimmering through the steering wheel at 50-60, which disappears at motorway cruising speed - probably front wheels would benefit from balancing. . the sporty yet economical BMW 318iS 1.9 coupe finished in Boston Green Metallic with contrasting trim. A really nice unmessed-with example , the spec includes digital split climate control, (fully working and ice-cold) abs, airbag, electric windows/ mirrors, central locking, and front arm rest. Also fitted with Scorpion exhaust giving a pleasing engine note, and a matching set of Continental tyres. And of course that rev-happy 16-valve 1900cc motor. This one has had few owners – there are just 3 former keepers on the V5 including the last owner who’s had it since 2003 (always a good sign) and the odometer reading of 131000 miles is supported by history including original service book with 10 main dealer stamps in the service book and old MOT’s back to 2001. Current MOT to March 2011 On a fast test on arrival it performed without apparent fault. There’s a lot of scabby and thrashed examples of these out there these days –I reckon this is one of the better examples you’ll find.
