BMW 320d ES Touring (120k miles)Regretfully parting with my BMW 320d due to my inability to stop having children. I`ve owned this car for the last four ...> years and (aside from the turbo going at around 107k) it`s been four years of trouble-free motoring. There are currently no clunks, rattles bangs or groans; this is a cracking, solid car.As stated above the car had a brand new turbo fitted at around 107k miles which is apparently a reasonably common fault with this model, so one less thing to worry about.The car was last serviced and MOT`d in January of this year and is mechanically excellent with the bodywork in great condition.The only fault that I am aware of on the car is that the rear wash/wipe has stopped working recently, though this could be something as simple as a fuse. If I had the time or the inclination, I`d get it fixed but a recent new arrival means time is pressing.The car is sold as seen although I have every confidence in its condition and mechanical integrity.Low starting price and no reserve so possible bargain. It`s a lot of car for the money.*I may remove the listing if I find a good part-ex offer on a Mercedes Vito or Viano people carrier*Cash on collection only.Any questions, please ask and I`ll do my best to answer.Thanks for looking. FOR SALE BMW 3 Series, 320D TOURING. 2005 / 55 PLATE E46 TYPE. Titanium Silver. 150 BHP Diesel with 6 Speed manual gearbox. Very nice looking 5 door estate ...> that is economical to own and fabulous to drive. This is our second 320D Touring and we have had it for just over two years. They are beautifully built cars that are a joy to drive, especially if you enjoy a bit of speed and are lucky enough to have some good roads around you! The car has had just one keeper before us. The V5 says 2 former keepers because the garage we bought it off managed to record a change of owner when they tax it for us as part of the purchase deal! (DP Automotive at East Heckington) I am not going to drone on about all it`s spec` and equipment, there are plenty of web sites that will tell you all about the BMW 320D ES As far as I am aware the only optional extras on this car are the M series steering wheel and gear knob. Both fitted from new. The full BMW toolkit roll is still in the boot and the rechargeable torch is in the glove box. First aid kit from under passenger seat is missing or removed because of being out of date by now ? We have two keys plus a plastic one, all handbooks and keyrings Mileage on the car is 106500 and the service book shows it`s service record with the dates and miles of when services were carried out as below: Delivery check - Sept 05, 23029 Mar 07, 46562 Sept 08 and 64153 Aug 09 by BMW before we purchased the car. Then 85901 Dec 10 by us. This was a big service including oils, fuel and air filters, pre filter, crank case breather and pollen filter. Since then it has had another oil and filter change in Oct 11 when the MOT was last done. It was not due but I had it done at half distance between official intervals on recommendation. Please come and see the car if you can. Those not near enough can take my pictures as a very genuine indication of it`s condition. I am sure I am right to say this one is better than the average although at 7 years old it has not escaped without a little wear and tare, stone chips etc. The only real notably damaged is a front nearside bumper scratch, this has been rather amateurishly touched in but a pro` could have it back as new in no time. Please see photo 12. No other faults that I know of. The car has TAX (August) and MOT (October) and is still in daily use so I can take anyone out for a run who wishes. If you want to drive I would like to see insurance please. Tyres and Alloys are all good, Two Bridgestone’s on the back have been put on by us, spare is a steel space saver. Kings Lynn railway station is only 18 miles from here so if anyone comes by train I am happy to meet there. Please ask any questions you have in good time before the sale ends. Thanks, Rob. ( I have now ...> purchased the 5 series already)This car has had 1 previous owner that shows this car is a GREAT CARThe car also comes with loads of history, the car has 15 Stamps in the book. The car also comes with the original BMW booklets and all old MOT`sThis car has done a few miles but I can safely say it has NEVER let me down, it is the best car I have ever owned. I do approx 50,000 motorway miles a year and it is a great car. I get on average 60 miles per gallon without having to try. This can be shown on the on board computer. The car has Pirelli tyres on the from and Continental on the rear. The car is ready to drive away without hassle. As you can see from the pictures there is rust on the both front wings, this is common on 3 series BMW. I was going to get it spray or even replace the wings as they are bolted on so a quick and easy fix.However it does not bother me in the slightest. The car is tidy inside and paint work good other than the front wingsThe car is a genuine car that has and is serving me well. If you regularly travel with a full load of passengers and luggage, then the diesels are the best bet. Our favourite is the 320d, which has plenty of pull but still delivers almost 60mpg on the combined cycle. Low emissions make it a good choice for business drivers, too, as benefit-in-kind tax bills will be low. The bigger diesels offer even more muscle, but at a price. Most of the petrol models are refined and swift, although the 318i won’t be as happy as the others with a heavily loaded boot. The larger engines will hit you with high fuel costs, although to be fair most 3 Series are more economical than similarly priced rivals. Inclusive servicing packages are available, which will help make budgeting easier, and will improve resale values, since they can be transferred to subsequent owners. Ford's family hatch has already slipped behind the BMW 3-Series in the sales charts, and the latest incentive from the German marque looks set to pull it further ahead of the one-time fleet favourite. The 3-Series ES is a special edition, available for a limited period and aimed at the blue oval's jugular by offering a generous amount of standard kit, plus a free servicing package. Ford's family hatch has already slipped behind the BMW 3-Series in the sales charts, and the latest incentive from the German marque looks set to pull it further ahead of the one-time fleet favourite. The 3-Series ES is a special edition, available for a limited period and aimed at the blue oval's jugular by offering a generous amount of standard kit, plus a free servicing package. Based on the entry-level 320d, the ES features 16-inch alloy wheels plus sports suspension, a CD player, an M-Pack leather steering wheel and a sports gearknob over the usual trim. But that's not all. It also has an interior storage package, consisting of armrest cubbies and under-seat sliding shelves. Yet at £20,995, it costs £650 less than the car on which it is modelled - and that's without all the trimmings. Add those, and you're looking at a saving of nearly £2,400 - although we think extras such as front foglights, Dynamic Stability Control and a sunroof would have been more useful than the interior upgrades chosen. But there are even more temptations laid on by the manufacturer. If you buy a 320d ES before the end of June, BMW will give you three years' free main dealer servicing on top of its standard unlimited-mileage warranty. The overall result of these benefits is an attractive package that is sure to appeal to cost-conscious drivers. Yet is the ES convincing enough to lure buyers away from more traditional and established family favourites? The logic behind BMW's plan can't be faulted. Thanks largely to its traditionally strong residual values, the 3-Series works out a whole 10 pence per mile cheaper to run over its first three years than an equivalent Mondeo - and that's before the cost-free servicing package is taken into account. On top of that, the 320d is a fine machine to drive. The previous 2.0 diesel felt rather slow and cumbersome compared with petrol-powered versions of the 3-Series. But the latest incarnation - revised last year - is a real driver's car. It's quick, responsive and benefits from reassuring roadholding, while the sports suspension fitted to the ES gives the handling a further edge. In-gear acceleration is impressive, and the car cruises in near-silence at motorway speeds. As with all 3-Series models, the gearbox, brakes and steering are superb, although the pedals are offset to the right and take some getting used to. Low CO2 emissions will please fleet buyers, while fuel economy is thrifty, even when the car is driven hard. BMW dealers are keen to do business on diesels as the company tries to raise the profile of its oil-burners, so be on the lookout for discounts and tempting PCP deals, which may be cheaper than less prestigious brands can offer. Our few criticisms of the ES concern the interior. With a single-slot CD player and blanking switches, the cabin can't hide the fact that it's been created from an entry-level model. What's more, the standard Anthracite trim and headlining give the passenger area a gloomy feel, while the cloth on the seat facings is coarse and feels out of sorts with BMW's upmarket image. Still, with the money you've saved on servicing, you could always specify leather trim. And that, in addition to improving the car's aesthetic appeal, would make it a highly desirable proposition on the second-hand market... The 320d ES combines style, quality and prestige with genuine value. But the blue propellor has to be careful not to cheapen its image. If resale prices and the firm's reputation take a knock as a result, it could have far-reaching consequences. A (very) mild set of revisions for the high-flying 3-series. BMW reckons the current model is a good enough seller to warrant only mild styling modifications and spec tinkering. So the 320d Touring’s basic qualities are retained in this revised version; BMW’s 2.0-litre oil-burner produces 174bhp and 258lb ft, but thanks to the firm’s Efficient Dynamics tech, it now returns 57.6mpg on the combined cycle and emits 130g/km of CO2. The visual changes are almost all outside, with revised front and rear lights and bumpers, side skirts that BMW claim ‘play with the light’ to change the car’s side profile and extra creases in the bonnet. You do get a few extra toys for your money; SE models now come with 17in alloys as standard, for example. But unless you spec BMW’s new, improved sat-nav and iDrive system, it’s hard to see much difference inside. What’s it like? Unsurprisingly familiar. Which is to say the 320d still feels rapid enough when it needs to be, refined enough the rest of the time and nicely balanced throughout. Heavy, grainy steering and a positive gearshift help the process, and BMW does seem to have made another step in ride refinement on run-flat rubber (this is presumably down to further work on tyres rather than any great change in suspension set-up). The engine is happy to be revved hard up to its peak power point of 4000rpm, although it tightens up soon afterwards. And at motorway speeds it’s virtually inaudible; you’re more likely to be disturbed by wind noise from around the door mirrors or road noise from those run-flats than any diesel rumble. Should I buy one? A series of sensible revisions have sharpened up the 3 in the sort of intelligent manner you’d expect from BMW. If you’re looking for a compact executive with low running costs and a bit more practicality than the saloon then the 320d Touring remains an almost irresistible choice.
