player Tan leather interior Electric heated seats Full electric pack (windows / mirrors) The engine starts first time every time and is as smooth as silk. There are no knocks, bangs, leaks, or rattles of any description and no untoward smoke either. The engine revs freely and strongly, providing decent torque and acceleration. The clutch and brakes operate as they should, and all gears select with no funny noises etc. Mechanically, it is very good indeed. The hood is relatively new but does require a new rear screen due to some moron slitting it whilst parked on my drive. These are easily obtained via ebay for around £70 and are zipped in. I have done a temporary repair to stop the elements from getting in and have been using it like this for the past few weeks. The rear tyres are very close to the legal limit and will soon need replacement. A small piece of plastic trim is missing off the passenger side front wing. Finally, the passenger window works as and when it chooses - this means that the hood will only operate when the window chooses to. I believe it is a faulty window switch but havent got round to sourcing a replacement. I can assure you that the hood is in FULL working order, it is merely the passenger window that is at fault. So, there you have it...a 1999 E36 BMW convertible, with long mot and tax. It is in good mechanical condition and just needs minor attention on the above points. It drives superbly and is all there. You bid to buy and NOT to haggle afterwards...you have ample time to ask questions whilst the listing is active. The winner MUST pay a £30 deposit via Paypal within 1 hour of the auction ending, the balance in cash within 5 days. | Hi up for sale is my BMW 323 AC convertible. I`m very sorry i have to sell her. | The mileage on the clock says 110 000 but the real engine`s mileage...>

is 69000 as a new engine was fitted and still has the original factory stickers on it. Along with the engine there were other parts fitted: a brand new clutch, housing and release bearing (costing over £400 without any labour), a new water pump, heater pump, new radiator, thermostat and air filter housing. I put some fresh oil in along with filter a bit of anti freeze turned the key and she started first time and has been going fine ever since. | I also had a new back window fitted as the old one had a whole in it. The electric roof is now mint and all works ok with no problems.The car also has a full black leather interior that has no rips marks or tears and has been cleaned and treated to prolong its life.There is a full DVD system fitted that sounds amazing and cost around £1200 in all. There is a Meos 7" flip out DVD player that also does bluetooth hands free plays your iopd/iphone takes sd card and the option of adding DVB TV and SAT NAV. The car has also had all the sound uprated to a Dual Vibe 2400w active subs in the boot a vibe 2 channel amp in the back to power the rear speakers that are also vibe and a 60w amp in the front to power the smaller Vibe speakers. As you can imagine with 3 amps and 8 speakers it sounds wicked and also provides full surround sound on DVDs. In the 2 headrests for the passengers are fitted screens that all play at the same time. in the front is a screen splitter that you can add another 4 screens if you wish.The 17"wheels have had recent tyres fitted so are all road legal.Most of the car has uprated parts by AC all the badges are AC rather than the Standard badges on the doors and wheels have M tech badges but 2 of them on the wheels have come off. the pedals are also AC Racing pedals. Bumpers and skirts are all AC.The car looks, runs and sounds amazing. I am open to realistic offers.Happy bidding. re-listed due to utter time waster! well... iv`e owned this Beast for the last year or so, originally when i wanted to get into track days and drift events...>

i whent looking at a few e36`s and to be honest they were all real dogs, rust all over the arches through the paint, intergelactic milage, knocking and creeking from every part of the car when you drove them etc etc i then came across this one.. nice clean shell for an 11 year old car, relativly low milage ( 89,000 at the time now 94k) and drove virtually like new, very quite engine with no rattles or knocks etc and more imortantly a very clean under carrige.. and it was in cosmos metalic black which happened to be my favorite colour. any way i gave it a full major service, equipt it with brand new coilovers, new e46 M3 top mounts and Z3m re-enforcement plates, Bucket seats, 3-point harnesses, deep dish steering wheel,short shifter, 325i Welded diff stripped it out and to top it off a genuine M3 body kit!.. ive also got a load of spare tyres for it which are included. so needles to say the car handles / looks awesome, and with 173BHP delivered through 6700RPM of the 2.5 litre straight six with the Vanos System kicking in at around 2400rpm its pretty exciting to drive aswell... especially sideways :) ... now the depressing part - due to some pretty dramatic news that was delivered to me recently ..ie im going to be a dad! i really cant justify keeping the car anymore, well not to the other half anyway! so the car was going to be put back on the road for this years fun including a trip to the ring in july but that just aint going to happen unfortunatley, the car just needs tax`d and MOT`d ( which it will tottally fly through / and i can arrange if needs be) and its good to go. please just text me or drop me a text on 0774 777 6661 if you have any questions, or if you`d like to come have a look at it/ test drive it. oh and i have sold the black wheels that are on the car in the photos, it`s on standard bmw wheels at the moment. no time wasters/ dreamers or test pilots please... you know who you are many thanks X

1997 BMW 323I SE AUTO BLUE with LPG

Welcome to my auction for my BMW 323i Auto 4 Door Saloon with LPG. Car has been in my family since March 2010, when I purchased this car off this site....>

It had 114,000 miles on the clock and now has 153880. This is mostly motorway miles due to my work, so the LPG makes it very affordable motoring. In November 2010 my wife ran into the back of another car and due to cost of the damage the insurance company wrote the car off as a CAT C. The damage was with the following panels only: Bonnet, Slam Panel, Front Panel/Grill, Bumper, near side Front Wing(very slight crease on wheel arch) etc and one headlight (due plastic fixings being broken). I replaced all required panels in the colour of my car, by purchasing genuine 2nd hand panels from this site., None of which have been repainted. The car has now had two MOT`s and the official Vosa VIC check carried out, and I have all documentation showing that the car is all correct. Since April 2011 car I`ve replaced the radiator, fitted new front brake discs and pads and new front wishbone arms on the front. Car drives very smooth as you would expect from a BMW six cylinder engine, whether you are using the LPG or Petrol, the cars performance is the same. For your info, cost of installing LPG to car like this is approx £1500, but it`s worth it. Happy to answer any questions relating to the LPG and accident if required. this car for 2 years now and it has never let me down once, always starts first time, and drives very well. I have spent almost £1000 on the car in the last few months, it is running perfectly. Rear parking sensors, abs, traction control, bmw business stereo, climate contol, electric windows, electric mirrors, auto dimming rear view mirror, and lots more i have proberly forgotten. There is a couple of bad points i will mention, as i want to be as honest as possible for a quick hassle free sale. There is a key mark on the passenger side, which you can see in the pictures. Usual stone chips for a car of this age, and there are some scratches on the doors above the handles, no idea how they got there can only presume from peoples rings, but they were on the car when i bought it and its never botherd me. The airbag light is on, which is a common fault with this model, its due to a sensor in the passenger seat. Its a simple fix and only costs £15 from ebay, the only reason i havnt done it is because it hasnt botherd me, i could do it for you before the sale of the car though. I have had the clutch done last september, costing £400 and also put 2 rear tyres on at the same time. Recently spent £200 getting it through the mot, and also had a few other minor issues such as sensors to replace, as i said, i have spent almost £1000 in the last few months with reciepts to prove. Full service history, apart from the last serivce i did myself as it was just an oil change, another service is not needed for 13000+ miles. The car is ready to drive away, i am still very happy with the car and it puts a smile on my face every day i drive it, so im in no rush to sale, so please no silly offers. It as the ultra reliable and surprisingly economical 2.5l straight six engine mated to a solid manual gearbox and as such it drives incredibly well for a 14yr old car. It has good tyres all round, a smart well kept interior which has not been smoked in, original BMW stereo (cassette adaptor for phone/ipod/mp3 player has stuck in the deck but it still plays fine) and ice cold air con with dual climate control.The bodywork is in a fair condition for it`s age with a few marks and scratches here and there, although it has no dents and absolutely no rust.The current mileage is 120k but it is in use so this may rise a touch. It was introduced in late 1990 (as a 1991 model) for Europe and in late 1991 (as a 1992 model) for US and Canada. It was the successor to the E30 3 Series and was eventually replaced by the E46 3 Series in 1998, though E36 coupes were still produced for the 1999 model year. The E36 experienced enormous success in the market. It laid strong foundations for the success that the BMW E46 experienced in subsequent years. Also known as the "dolphin shape", the E36 was sold from 1991 through 1999. All E36 saloons, coupes, and station wagons employed the "Z-axle" multilink suspension in the rear which had been proven in the Z1. The hatchback body style, known as the E36/5 or BMW Compact, was identical to the regular E36 from front bumper to A-pillar. In order to save space due to its truncated rear end, the Compact used a rear semi-trailing arm suspension based on the old E30 (also found in the Z3 and M Coupe), instead of the Z-Axle Multilink employed in all other E36's. In the United States, the four-door E36 were on sale by fall 1991, while the E30 coupes were retained until well into 1992 when they were replaced by E36 coupes. The E36 convertible was delayed until 1994. The hatchback body style, known as the BMW Compact, was introduced in 1995 starting with the 318ti, being very popular in Europe but largely unsuccessful in North America. The "Touring" station wagon was sold in Europe from 1995, but was not available in the United States. DOHC engines were used across the range (except in entry level models, see table below), with VANOS variable valve timing introduced in 1993. The 2.5 L M50B25 used in the 325i models was replaced in 1996 with the 2.8 L M52B28, creating the 328 line. Another 2.5 L I6 engine, the M52B25, was reintroduced for 1998 but badged as the 323i rather than 325i. This platform is often referred to as the E36/5. In the United States/Canada market the car was sold as the 318ti and was equipped with a 1.8L I4, 139 bhp (104 kW; 141 PS) M42B18 engine and was priced at USD23,000 in 1995. In 1996 the 1.8 liter engine was replaced with 1.9L M44B19 putting out 142 bhp (106 kW; 144 PS) and 133 ft·lbf (180 N·m) of torque. Ostensibly due to slow US sales of the E36/5 Compact, the E46 Compact was not sold in the United States. A modified version of the E36 platform designated as E36/7 was used for the BMW Z3 roadster in 1996-2002. The modification for the BMW Z3 Coupe was designated as E36/8. Without it, there was the distinct possibility of BMW leaving its core mission of building driver oriented cars, and alienating an existing customer base long enamored with the company's 2002 model. Paul Bracq, Director of Design at BMW from 1970–1974, is credited with setting the design direction of the E21 3 Series, while Wilhelm Hofmeister is credited with first drawing the small forward wedge at the base of the C-pillar, a strong design trait of the first 3 Series. In 1975 Claus Luthe replaced Bracq and became the owner of the project. In July 1975, BMW’s Board of Management first presented this new model series in the Munich Olympic Stadium for public appraisal. The frontal view of the new car was dominated by the BMW trademark kidney grille standing out clearly from the radiator cover. The styling of the new car bore a resemblance to the BMW E12 5 Series. The wedge shape of the two-door model was distinctive, extending all the way to the unusually high rear end. In response to criticism of the tail design, a black plastic trim panel between the tail lights was added. The car's styling was otherwise well received. Measuring 4355 millimeters (171.5 inches) in length, 1610 millimeters (63.4 inches) in width, and 1380 millimeters (54.3 inches) in height, the E21 Series continued the tradition of the New Class. With the wheelbase measuring 2563 millimeters (100.9 in), there was little body overhang in the rear wheel drive design. The track measured 1364 millimeters (53.7 in) at the front, and 1377 millimeters (54.2 in) at the rear. The suspension incorporated rack and pinion steering and McPherson strut suspension at the front, and semi-trailing arm type independent suspension at the rear. The power assisted brakes were discs on the front wheels, while the rear wheels had drum brakes. Initially, a Getrag four-speed manual was the standard transmission fitment. Five-speed Getrag gearboxes were fitted as standard in the 323i and others in later years, but were available at the car's release as an option, with gear ratio sets favoring either performance or economy. Alternatively, purchasers could opt for the ZF 3 HP-22 three-speed automatic transmission. The cockpit design of the E21 marked the introduction of a new design concept, with the center console angled towards the driver. This feature has become part of BMW’s interior design philosophy for many years. As a sign of passive safety, all edges and control elements within the interior were rounded off and padded. At the E21's release, three models were available: with 316 (1.6 litre), 318 (1.8 litre) and 320 (2.0 litre) versions of the BMW M10 four cylinder engine. To draw clear visual distinction within the new model series, the 320 models came with dual headlights, while the 316 and 318 had single round headlights. At the end of 1975, the 320i was introduced; the engine was fitted with Bosch K Jetronic fuel injection, delivering 125 bhp (93 kW) on premium grade gasoline. At introduction in the German market, the entry-level 316 retailed at DM 13 600, the 318 sold for DM 14 420, and the two 2.0 L models went for DM 15 330 and DM 17 400 respectively. [edit] Ongoing evolution In the mid 1970s, BMW had invested DM 110 million in a new engine series, designated as the M60, but later renamed as M20 upon the introduction of the E30 in late 1982. At the 1977 International Auto Show in Frankfurt, BMW unveiled its new variants of the E21, featuring the new six-cylinder M20 engines. The four cylinder 320 model was replaced with the 320/6, featuring a two litre version of the M20 engine. The 323i model was introduced, featuring 2.3 litres and 143 bhp (107 kW; 145 PS) , empowering this car with a top speed of approximately 190 km/h (118 mph). The braking system was also upgraded, with the 323i featuring disc brakes on all wheels. In the meantime however, a performance gap had developed between the 98 bhp (73 kW; 99 PS) 318 and the new 320/6 delivering 122 bhp (91 kW; 124 PS). For the 1979/80 model year, the four-cylinder models were upgraded: the 1.8 litre power unit was revised and entered the market as a 90 bhp (67 kW; 91 PS) carburetor engine in the 316, while addition of Bosch K Jetronic fuel injection to the 1.8 litre engine raised the 318i to 105 bhp (78 kW; 106 PS) . Since there was now also room for a new entry-level model, the 315 powered by a 75 bhp (56 kW; 76 PS) 1.6 litre M10 engine made its appearance in 1981. [edit] Sales A European study conducted by BMW in 1980 showed that with a share of 31 percent, the 320i was the best-selling 3 Series, followed by the 316 accounting for 27 percent, the 318 with a share of 24 percent, and the 323i with a share in sales of 18 percent. The purchasing motives were the car’s performance in 77 percent of all cases, its handling for 65 percent of the customers, and the special looks of a sporting saloon in 64 per cent of the reasons quoted for buying the car. Most E21 owners were satisfied with their purchase, as almost two-thirds of those surveyed stated that their next car would be another BMW. Another inquiry showed that drivers of the E21 Series were particularly active motorists by European standards, with more than 60 per cent of those surveyed covering more than 17 000 km (10 500 miles) per year. In May 1981, six years after the start of production, the millionth 3 Series came off the production line. Worldwide sales of the E21 topped 1.36 million at the end of E21 production in 1982, although the E21 version was not particularly popular in the lucrative United States market. It was a reasonably popular car in Britain, and helped increase the popularity of "compact executive" models. By the end of its production life in 1983, the E21 was competing fiercely in a market with the likes of the Audi 80 and the new Mercedes-Benz 190E. [edit] Motorsports The Group 5 version of the BMW 320, introduced in 1977 as a replacement to the already obsolete BMW 3.0 CSL and became nicknamed as the Flying Brick in reference to the blocky bodyshape, was powered by a Formula Two engine that was tuned to 300 bhp (220 kW) by BMW Motorsport. Other than the main factory team and McLaren who ran the IMSA operation in the US, the car was notably used by the BMW Junior Team, who had the likes of Manfred Winkelhock, Eddie Cheever, and Marc Surer as drivers. They would help to win the 1977 Deutsche Rennsport Meisterschaft and would later go into Formula One. The car was also used to win the Macau Guia Race in 1981 and 1982. [edit] Summary: model range 315: The most economical model, introduced to the market in reaction to the second "oil crisis" in late 1979, with a 4-cylinder M10 1.6 L engine and a single downdraft carburetor, 75 bhp (56 kW; 76 PS). More spartan than the other E21 models, it was the last E21 to be built and shared production with the E30. 316: The original 3-series base model with M10 1.8 L engine, 90 bhp (67 kW; 91 PS). 318: Slightly more powerful version 98 bhp (73 kW; 99 PS) with 1.8 L engine. 318i: An upgraded version of the 316 featuring the M10 1.8 L engine fitted with a Bosch K-Jetronic fuel injection system, introduced in 1979 as successor to the carburetted 318. 320: Featured an M10 four-cylinder engine with a Solex 2-barrel downdraft carburetor, 109 bhp (81 kW; 111 PS). 320i: Upgraded version of 320 with an M10 engine; Bosch K-Jetronic (LambdaO2) fuel injection, 125 bhp (93 kW; 127 PS) and limited slip differential also as an option. 320/6: Featured the new BMW 6 cylinder engine, the M20 2.0 L, and a Solex 4-barrel downdraft carburetor; replaced the 320/4 from 1979 on. 320is: The 1980 320is for North America offered Recaro seats, a rear antiroll bar, a limited-slip differential, cross-spoke wheels, a larger-diameter front antiroll bar, and a special front air dam. 323i: Featuring the M20 and Bosch K Jetronic fuel injection, the 323i was the top model of the line with 143 bhp (107 kW; 145 PS) and four-disc power-assisted brakes. A 5-speed overdrive gearbox became standard after 1980. Options include power steering, a 5-speed close-ratio 'dogleg' sport gearbox, and 25% limited slip differential. [edit] Variants BMW 320i coupe (US) Baur TopCabriolet Hartge H3 323i USA market variants featured different headlights to the European and other export versions. The 320i was available in the United States market and was remarkably different from the European models. Department of Transportation (DOT) safety regulations required larger bumpers, different headlight sets, and DOT marker lamps on the sides. Adapting the engines to meet US exhaust emissions regulations resulted in smaller engine in the 320i (downgraded to 1.8 L) and less horsepower output compared to the European market versions. Before BMW had their “M" cars, a cadre of small European performance companies such as Hartge, Alpina and AC Schnitzer modified and tuned cars from BMW offering aftermarket modifications. Brothers Herbert and Rolf Hartge started modified BMW’s in small numbers in Merzig, Germany around 1971. Herbert Hartge had been involved with cars since his youth and from 1969 to 1983 was a successful racing driver with Formula V racing and touring cars, primarily BMWs. Because cars modified by European performance companies like Hartge and Alpina were so much faster, looked far more sportier than the American version, they were accessible mainly to the wealthy and a few small companies who could afford to navigate through the endless safety and emission rules and regulations imposed by the U.S. In the late 70’s - early 80’s, Hartge made available two E21 models: the Hartge H3 323i and the H3S 335i. The first E21 was the Hartge H3 323i: many of these were built for a customer’s specific application using modified parts Hartge offered in their sales brochures and catalogs. Build options included bodywork, a modified 2.3L 180 hp (134 kW), choice in 5 speed transmissions: the "economic" which was the standard H pattern 5 speed with first gear up and the fifth up; and the “dogleg sport” with its first gear over and down. Hartge offered a choice of gear ratios in the rear differential to enhance performance on the open road, mountain driving, to the race track. The second E21 model was the monster Hartge H3S 335i. For this Hartge modified a 6 cylinder 3.5 L transplanted out of a BMW 635CSi. This produced 205 hp (153 kW) which was a reduction in power compared to 218 CVs of E23 and E24 made necessary in order to meet anti-pollution laws in force, which set limits to emissions of CO in relation to weight ratio power. Since the 3500 cc engine coupled to the body of the E21 Series 3 was smaller and lighter than the 6 Series and 7, it exceeded these limits and was necessary to cut 13 HP in order to obtain approval. In 1982, thanks to head, valves, camshaft and exhaust manifolds, specific power reached a peak of 240 hp (179 kW) for a maximum speed of 240 km/h (149 mph) and launched it from 0-100 km in 6 seconds. The H3S had two options for the transmission, both manual 5-speed. The first was out of a BMW 735 with a conventional first gear up top shift pattern and relationships between gears longer. The second was a derivation of the 635CSi’s dogleg sport with its first gear down pattern and short shift between gears for faster acceleration. Both models were offered ample opportunities for customization with various accessories, including additional instrumentation, front and rear seats, leather, fabric, or special alzacristalli upholstery, electric mirrors, Hartge decals and emblems, suspension, exhaust, engine, wheels, brakes, and other options available in the Hartge catalogs. Although BMW ended production of the E21 model in 1982, Hartge continued to offer parts in their brochures for the E21 through the 1989 model catalog. Alpina offered the B6 2.8. Introduced at the IAA in 1978, it was produced from March 1978 until January 1983. Only 533 units were built. The B6 2.8 transplanted the 2.8 L M30 engine from the 528i model into the 323i. Alpina fitted forged Mahle pistons, modified the combustion chambers, and used a Zenith-Pierburg-DL fuel injection system. These modifications raised engine output from 177 bhp (132 kW; 179 PS) to approximately 200 bhp (149 kW; 203 PS). A cabriolet conversion was offered by Karosserie Baur GmbH, based on regular E21 models. The cabriolet conversion was composed of a targa roof and an independent rear soft top. Production of the Baur TopCabriolet began in 1978, and were sold via the BMW dealership network. All TopCabriolets included the BMW warranty. The engine management light came on BMW had one look and suggested i replace the ECU at �750 i asked for a second opinion. Got that and reset the code and cleaned a sensor and never had any problems since. Apart from the dealer cost being high , the car is reliable and comfortable to drive. Town driving is ok but after a prolonged period in traffic your leg may get tired so if you'll be spending ......auto. I also found the seats a little hard , after driving for a couple of hours you may find your bottom has gone a little numb , however this may vary from person to person dependin on age and weight i guess. Also the leather trim is hot and sticky in the summer and cold in the winter , so its not really the most practical but this is the same for all leather trimmed cars. With the usual BMW quality the petrol engines in this saloon (16V, 6cylinder, 2.5 litre) are made to last. So you needn't worry about buying one with over 100k on the clock. I get about 30mpg average, driving about 3miles to work and back every day and the odd 300mile trip up to yorkshire every month or so. I think 30mpg is great economy considering the weight of this car. Tank holds something like 60litres (costs me about 50 pounds to fill ......in all a great car, comfortable and sleek with plenty of room for upgrades (if it takes your fancy PiperX now develop an induction kit for this model). Aha, i've just found out how to edit ;) An unmodified 323i outputs i think 192BHP, a new 325 is said to break 218bhp, and a new 330 outing @ 258BHP if my memory serves me. I covered about 30000 miles in the car 50000-80000 and enjoyed every minute of it. The interior was a light grey leather which looked nice but did show signs of wear when i come to get rid of the car. ......when i got rid of the car jan 2007, it was a 98 on a R.
