Hi.Selling my much loved BMW 325 TDS SE as I finally need a bigger car! Many new parts inc:Main Fuel Injection PumpIn Tank Lift PumpGlow PlugsMAF SensorWindscreenCabin...>
Filter.Engine is smooth and powerful (143bhp) and it`s been serviced regularly - althought could do probably with an Oil Change in the next 2/3K.Sailed through last MOT - only advisory was front brakes - new Discs and Pads fitted on front last month, rear pads changed 3 months ago.Absolutely NO rust on the body, interior is fine but drivers seat starting to wear through!Alloy Wheels, Sunroof, 18 Button OBC.All electrics work apart from Aircon (the belt had been removed when I bought the vehicle and I`ve never wanted or needed to investigate further) and service indicator lights - also never worked since I bought the vehicle.Exterior is very clean apart from a one very minor (and small) indentation on passenger door. Slight de-lamination to paint on the bonnet which I`ve treated myself with an off the shelf product. All in all drives beautifully - feels firm and solid (and quick) on the road - tyres good!Very low reserve, car located in Sussex, cash on pick up only.Any questions please call - 07855 425124. BMW E36 325 TDS diesel as you can see from the pictures this bmw is not standerd, its had quite alot of work and time and money spent on it to get it to this form. here is the currunt spec: Engine & running gear - free flow air filter with hard pipe to turbo - straight through exhaust system (turbo back) - large front mount intercooler and samco pipes - oil catch tank - bailey dump valve been modified to work on a desiel - ecu chipped & remaped by chipped uk with boost upped to 18psi - serviced every 3k miles - mig diff - (designed for drifting) wheels and suspention - lowerd 60mm front and 40mm rear - 18" alloy wheels body styling - M3 rear lights - clear side repeters - clear front indicators - skirts and lower bumpers colour coded the body work its self is in quite good conditon for a 14yr old car, but it does have a few light dents and scratchs that have been touched up over the years and wheels have some curbing marks but every think works as it should. being the tds it has: - front and rear electric windows & electric sunroof - 18 button obc with built in imobilisa, mpg meter, out side temp, timer, speed warning ect ect - sun visors have light mirrors - full central locking - rear center arm rest with cup holders for those who are not to familer with the bmw diesel range there are 2x types of 325 desiels there is the TD witch came with 115bhp and no intercooler and not very tuneable and dont make a grate deal of money compaired to the 325 TDS witch came with 143bhp with a small intercooler with a larger turbo and electronic fueling TDI and its these ones that seem to hold there value although most of them were auto but these manuals are around just not as easy to come across. dont be put off by the millage as these engines are good for over 230k and this on has loads of life left in it. there are some bad points as well to this car : bonnet badge is missing washer jets broken (but modified so work) bit of the lacque flaking bonnet few small rust bubbles on bottom corner of doors and front of bonnet. there is a upgrade stereo system in the car at the moment that will also be included - cd player/ amp/ subwoofer would like to make you aware for those intrested in this car with no knolage of drifting or tuned diesels - being a mig diff the rear wheels will skip when turning sharp at low speed as the rear wheels will be trying to turn at the same rate. being chipped - it will put extra diesel in on boost witch dont always burn off on idle so causes to run lumpy every now and then. also being a tunned and more fuel and air going in does cause more smoke on boost just wanted to make the winning bidder clear on this so there is no disopoint ment on collection. just had a new water pump fitted and new engine mounts & was serviced 1k ago £2800 ono cash on collection from kimpton (5min from luton) VEIWING WELCOME!! thought i would add this thread just incase any one is un-sure of its capablites: Anybody with Derv Drifting EXPERIENCE Last edited by kickingriffin; 01-05-2008 at 09:32. 18-04-2008, 10:59 #2 (permalink) srmotorsport given up now!! Safe to buy? Thinking of buying this car but it has huge miles on it. However, it drives and sounds ok so was wondering if anyone can tell me how long the piece of string might be on this one? 2 years ago Report Abuse by EvelynThe ModifiedDog. Member since: 10 January 2007 Total points: 33,961 (Level 7) Badge Image: Add Contact Block Best Answer - Chosen by Voters The mileage isn't the problem here, as BMW engines when properly maintained can do mega miles. I'd be more concerned about the fact that it's 15 years old, and everything else on the car may have gone to pot, and I wouldn't assume it's not going to be rusty either. These old E36 shape Beemers can rust like an old Fiat! Anyone would need to see the car to give an accurate assessment of it, but it might be worth a few hundred quid if it's been looked after. 2 years ago Report Abuse 100% 2 Votes 1 person rated this as good Action Bar: 0 stars - mark this as Interesting! BMWs are very reliable, parts are VERY cheap & you'll rarely need any. I always use http://www.gsfcarparts.com , very good service & great prices - I'd like to see the owner of a 1993 Ford or Vauxhall with 170k (if there are any left at all) who can buy an oil & air filter for £3 a piece! Sold my last E36 (1993 318i) last year with 150k, still going very well. My brother currently has a 530d, over 200k miles, drives & runs like new. It's b diesel, so is highly unlikely to be thrashed about like a 318is.. It's b pre 95 e36..thats the problem.. The early e36 models were not built that well.. Even online if you do the reviews on the e36 you'll hear other people make the same or similar comments.. 325tds is a decent engine though.. But it's no e46 320d..with the common rail. . Get a mechanic to check it out, if the engine is good and the bodywork is ok ,and most of all the price is right, then it should be ok. 2 years ago Report Abuse 0% 0 Votes 1 person rated this as good by AnnonJon... I am having a few problems with my BMW 325 TDS. Could someone please provide me with some information regarding the questions below: 1) The gear changes are very rough, even when the car has been running. However, if i have been travelling on the motorway for say 100 miles, the gear changes become smooth. Can anyone suggest something for this? 2) Whenever i put my foot down from stand still or to overtake, a lot of black smoke is thrown out. I understand that diesel cars always smoke a little, but this one is completely covering the car following behind. Can anyone suggest something for this? 3) I think that the fuel consumption is also really bad - the on board computer is showing 28.5 MPG. Is this correct? I realise that these computers are not always correct but i think that MPG should be between the late 30's and early to mid 40's. Is this correct? For example, with £30.00 worth of diesel i get 205 - 208 miles and with £40.00 i get 250 - 255 miles both with steady driving and using the high gears appropriately. 4) The pick up speed from stand still is a bit slow, but the acceleration is good at high speeds. Can anyone suggest something for this? 5) The car sometimes 'rough idles' and then returns back to normal. Can anyone suggest something for this? 6) When changing from 3rd gear to 4th gear, the car sometimes dies down in power, but when 3rd is selected the car drives normally; and then 4th gear is fine. Also, when changing any gear especially 2nd and 3rd, the car revs itself to approx 2,200 - 2,300 revs, even though i chnage gear at around 2,100 revs. Can anyone suggest something for this? I have only owned the car for the past three months and have had the following work done to it: 1) Full major service including all the filters. 2) Brand new heater glow plugs. 3) Brand new fuel pump - the one that fits in th fuel tank. 4) Injectors have been cleaned using injector cleaner additives such as: 'Forte', 'STP', etc. 5) Diagnostic check - which returned no faults. I will be very, very grateful for anyone who can provide me with any information or possible cures. Best Regards, Immy. Would you larger intake mean more air thus more fuel?? B19GRR 1,504 posts 96 months [report] [news]  Tuesday 8th June My old TDS (manual touring with chip) used to return mid-fourties in day to day use if I remember and it was pretty reliable considering it had been to the moon and back. Had a few things go wrong, leak from fuel feed caused starting issues (pointlessly changed glow plugs), oil cooler unions had corroded so was leaking. Overall though pretty reliable. It's a more basic engine that the current diesels so probably a bit more robust. Likewise my 528 (Auto single vanos) has been very decent, best tankful I got was 34mpg last year in the summer for my regular (140mile) commute. That dropped to 29ish in winter. Only engine problem I've had was the thermostat sticking open in the winter (brrrrr).I'd say for spirited driving you'd be wanting the 328 but depends on the distances you do really. I always though the old TeDiouS was quite fun and the rev needle did occasionally get near the 5k mark but it was a bit dead below 2k.You need old SniffPetrol/Diesel to show up!Cheers,Rob Advertisement JimexPL 1,074 posts 52 months [report] [news]  Tuesday 8th June E36 speedos tend to be quite inaccurate. Both of mine over read by about 8mph at an indicated 85.Very few cars are going to give sensible mpg at nearly 100mph as the gearing won't be suited. A 7.0 Z06 will give you about 25mpg at a steady 100, which is excellent for the size/performance of the engine, but then it is only doing 2,000rpm...If you dropped your speed to 75 in the S40 it would return 40-45mpg.Our 323 and 328 both do about 34mpg at 75, but drop if used on the continent at around 95 to 26ish mpg. Can't comment on the tds as I've only driven them over short periods, but I doubt it would give much more than 30mpg at 95.If you are bothered about consumption you need to slow down! Devil2575 895 posts 28 months [report] [news]  Tuesday 8th June Buy a 328. The 325 tds was good in it's day but that was 15 years ago. They not anything like as economical as modern diesels and now that they're getting older there's plenty of stuff to go wrong.Just be aware of potential Nikasil issues with a 328.I owned a 328 and it was possible to get bewteen 30 and 40mpg on a run but not if you have a heavy right foot. On a motorway at 70mpg you should easily see 35mpg. Fantastic MPG for a large engine. sniff diesel 12,972 posts 52 months [report] [news]  Wednesday 9th June B19GRR said: You need old SniffPetrol/Diesel to show up!Didn't think 29 was that old!I've had a 325tds touring manual for a couple of years, chipped to 170bhp it provided plenty of pulling power and averaged about 36mpg (I do tend to drive quite hard) best mpg was 48mpg on the motorway with a heavy load on the roofbars, worst was about 25mpg when towing a +2tonne trailer. Once managed to average an indicated 120mph for 55-60 miles and got nearly 30mpg. Don't even bother considering a 325td (non intercooled) as my GF had one of these for a couple of years, being an auto it was dog slow and never got over 33mpg even at a steady 75mph on the motorway.I've got a couple of 328i's at the moment, as standard they have a fair bit more turn of speed, probably equal refinement to the tds when cruising on the motorway as the standard gearing is very long. My other 328i is modified a bit with lower gearing and a M50 manifold so economy is compromised in favour of better acceleration. I'd say the tds will give 25-30% better economy in like for like driving, but finding one that hasn't done mega mileage will be harder than finding a nice 328i as the diesel's tend to be used as workhorses. running cost wise I find no difference in parts and servicing costs for petrol or diesels.Realistically you'll have to test drive both and see what suits your style the best, if you're near Shrewsbury give us a shout and I'll let you have a go in a 328i. It is possible, but not at all easy to achieve in the real world. That said, the 328i does have quite long gearing, so it's pretty decent on fuel for long journeys. It will guzzle if you press on, though. In my opinion, a lovely car, but a shame that BMW will not show any good will on an issue which is all over the Internet.I have asked BMW to try and do something for me but got a blank refusal. I intend to contact Norbert Reithofer about the issue, and also to the BMW Heiress, Susanne Klatten, as the cost of repair in the current Economic Climate renders the car useless to me. I get approx 48 mile per gallon which for this type of car is very impressive. I know BMW are now working on the revamped diesel engine which gives even more fuel efficency and even better miles per gallon, there is also an advantage with the new engine on CO2 levels for company drivers as this is set to be around 131 which based on the current model would save a typical 22% tax payer a good amount of money. ...
