For sale here is my much loved BMW E36 328I Cabriolet, in Boston Green Metalic Paint with matching green roof. It`ll be a real shame to see it go but as ...> alot of people now we need the money. The Mortgage is more important... She is a 1997 car that I`ve only owned since last year. Snce then I have spent alot of time and money keeping her runing right. As with a car of her age she is not perfect. At some point she has had the front bumper and bonnet fitted from another vehicle. This shows where some small amount of paint has come off and red shows from the bumper, and blue on the bonnet. All four tyres have good tread. The fronts are not very old either. Shes showing 143,564 miles which may go up slightly as I still use her. The engine is quite litterally as sweet as a nut. No noise from her at all!! The car is un-molested and has the standard exhaust with the butterfly valves in the rear box working correctly. These are nice as for normal driving the engine note is very quiet but with a boot full the valves open and you can hear the famous BMW straight 6 roar!! She has the much desired M-Tech interior in grey leather. It is showing it`s age but I`m sure a clean and a leather restorer cream would work wonders. She`s fitted with 17 inch APLINA Replica wheels. These look superb but the only down side being the slightly heavier steering due to 215 profile tyres at the front. The only after market addition is Poly Bushes to the control arms in all four corners. These bushes are a well knonw fault on the E36`s, and I decided to go for Ploy`s as they are much stronger. They have stiffended the car up a little but not by much. The steering feels more direct also. Here is a list of the parts I`ve fitted to the car. 2 x ANSCHLER rear suspension springs. 2 x new front control arms. 2 x front control arm poly pushes. 2 x rear control arm poly bushes. New Alternator, 140 amp unit for £150 exchange. GATES Alternator belt. New and Genuine BMW lower steering coupling. 2 x front tyres, GT Champiro HPX (Poor mans Goodyear Eagle F1`s, there good tyres!!) Crystal Clear fog lights. Below is a copy and paste from a log I keep of the car. All faults I spot and fix are documented in this way, with the milage at the time shown for referance. Friday 4th November 2011 140,000 approx Roof has minor leak in heavy rain. Auto Glym roof cleaner and proofer bought and used. Roof appears much better, allot of small stains gone. Eye brow light covers removed, not to my taste. Sunday 6th November 2011 140,000 approx Full wheel alignment check done by STS Tyres. Found to be way out both front and rear. Set up as close as they can get it. Worn bush to FNS wishbone (rear) found, to be ordered ad replaced. Monday 7th November 2011 140,275 Front tyres changed. Size upped from 205/40/17 to 215/40/17 t fit better on the wide wheels. Tyres are GT Champiro HPX’s, £81 each. Sunday 13th November 2011 To Friday 18th November 2011 Continued… Photo’s in folder, 02 140,602 Continued… OSR spring replaced. Front control arms found to have split gaiters on ball joints, rear bush on NS is very worn. Both arms replaced with new EXCEL Component items, OE spec. Rear of arm bushes replaced with Powerflex Polyurethane items. OE spec. Both headlights replaced with second hand items from breakers. Originals had “Angel Eyes” retro fitted which was a bodge, so removed. Under bonnet rubber seals replaced, were missing from car when bought. Oil and filter change. MANN filter and Castrol Magnatec 10/40w oil. Stereo changed with my Kenwood unit. Iphone connection cable put onto centre console from CD player. Bonnet struts found to be missing securing clip from OS, NS was on wrong to corrected. Jack missing from boot replaced with one from breakers. Wednesday 15th February 2012 To Friday 17th February 2012 Photo’s in folder, 03 142,485 NSR spring found to be broken. OSR spring still sitting low so both replaced with ANSCHLER springs from Euro Parts. Rear trailing arms bushes replaced with Powerflex Poly Bushes. Both headlights full of condensation, so stripped apart and seals found to be wet. Dried overnight in airing cupboard and put back together with silicone sealant to help seal. Front fog lights replaced with Crystal Clear items bought from eBay. Anschler spring shown in photo with eBay bought spring for comparison. Wednesday 29 February 2012 To Friday 2nd March 2012 Photo’s in folder, 04 142,528 Old Alternator draining battery, smell of burning from unit. (80amp Bosch unit) Replaced with Recon unit from HMF, 140 amp unit, old one exchanged. New GATES belt fitted also. Saturday 31st March 2012 Photo’s in folder, 05 143,002 Car polished with buffer machine. De-badged as 328 badge partially coming off. Wires to NS side repeater extended as unit not fitted correctly due to wire pull. Electric roof motors reset and synced. Pictures show issue with motor gear, requires replacement. Wednesday 16th May 2012 Photo’s in folder 06 143,564 Lower Steering arm coupling replaced with new Genuine BMW arm from eBay. Old item was worn causing steering vibration. Known Faults. The off side rear tyre looses air over a week or so. I`ve just never had it looked at. The roof could do with a good clean and tidy up. The rear quarters of the roof lining on the inside had come loose, a common problem with repair kits avaialble for £25 a side. Also as pictured the roof has come loose of the rear window seals in the lower corners. The worse one of the 2 is shown. The near side front indicator does not fit in 100% right, this is shown in the pictures. I`ve not managed work fatham why this is but it`s never fallen out or anything. BMW badge on the boot is missing the logo. The roof motor slips. The final picture shows the COG from the motor which as you can see is missing part of it`s teeth. It`s a quick job to fit a new cog to the original motor which spins just fine. Motors can be bought from £50 up on eBay. I`ll even show you how to change it if you buy the car. I must add the roof DOES go up and down. It needs help due to the motor slip, but once this has been changed it`ll work just fine. Other then a good lube being needed there are no issues. The roof is the 100% electric version also! Genuine bidders only please. You bid to buy!! Viewing welcome so email me to arrange. This auction is for a N reg 1995 BMW 328i manual convertible in metallic burgandy red with a set of 17" Wolfrace alloy wheels on. It has an semi-auto ...> electric roof which is this week having a new rear screen put in costing £200. The mileage is 117,910 at present, there is MOT until November 2012 and road tax can be put on at cost for the winning bidder.I took this car in P/X from a good friend who brought in 2 years ago in May 2010 for £1725, it has extensive service history with 10 past MOT`s to support mileage, lots of invoices for work from garages, service book with 4 stamps in etc. Last week I have also put a brand new tyre on the rear costing £60 and had it professionally valeted costing £60. So in the past week I have spent over £320 on the car!The private plate A9 YJR was valued at £800 by Reg Transfers in 2010 and is included in the sale.The BMW starts and drives well, it also comes with a set of 4 standard 15" BMW alloy wheels, one has a tyre so ideal as a spare and the other 3 would need tyres, ideal if you don`t like the black set and wish to put it back to standard. The exterior paintwork is in good condition, there is a 19" scratch on the passengers side rear quarter panel that requires some paintwork but other than that it`s lovely. The interior is in good condition, the drivers seat bolster and bottom need some stitching / sowing up. There are a few small white marks on the back seats but these can be worked on and probably removed.The car has onboard computer, power steering, 4 electric windows which work perfectly, electric mirrors, central locking, electric roof, Kenwood CD player, driver air bag, front fog lights, 2 sets of alloys included, usual BMW tool kit etc. The bad points are the air bag light is on which is something to do with moving the seats around, the brake pad wear indicator light is on but the brakes are fine the last person did`nt buy a new senor lead for them. The ignition column / barrel are faulty so you have to start it straight into the barrel with a screwdriver at present, these are available on eBay to buy but works fine as is. The speedo was changed in 2006 due to a faulty display cluster and I have all the documentation from a garage.Good reliable car with strong engine that drives well with plenty of power, would get in it now and drive to Scotland and back no problem. To sum up it could do with a few little jobs doing but nothing too costly or major. Fantastic looking motor perfect for the summer 9 months test 5 months tax Full black leather interior, Electric folding roof, All electrics in good working ...> order, Mechanically sound. Only modification is an alpine head unit and subwoofer wiring. Few sctratches on the bodywork but no dents. P reg 118,000 miles. All 5 original alloys however 1 alloy slightly damaged see photo. Be sad to see her go but family needs come first. Tyres are all with 5mm+ tread, New alternator and battery with 2 years warranty left. Loads of reciepts and history 3 owners from new. The power Hood has no tears in however needs attention on interior lining (3 clips), Back window faded across the middle where the fold is when down. BMW M3
BMW Z3 The BMW E36 is the third generation of the 3 Series compact executive cars produced by BMW. It was introduced in late 1990 (as a 1991 model) for Europe and in late 1991 (as a 1992 model) for US and Canada. It was the successor to the E30 3 Series and was eventually replaced by the E46 3 Series in 1998, though E36 coupes were still produced for the 1999 model year. The E36 experienced enormous success in the market. It laid strong foundations for the success that the BMW E46 experienced in subsequent years.
Also known as the "dolphin shape", the E36 was sold from 1991 through 1999. All E36 saloons, coupes, and station wagons employed the "Z-axle" multilink suspension in the rear which had been proven in the Z1. The hatchback body style, known as the E36/5 or BMW Compact, was identical to the regular E36 from front bumper to A-pillar. In order to save space due to its truncated rear end, the Compact used a rear semi-trailing arm suspension based on the old E30 (also found in the Z3 and M Coupe), instead of the Z-Axle Multilink employed in all other E36's.
In the United States, the four-door E36 were on sale by fall 1991, while the E30 coupes were retained until well into 1992 when they were replaced by E36 coupes. The E36 convertible was delayed until 1994.
The hatchback body style, known as the BMW Compact, was introduced in 1995 starting with the 318ti, being very popular in Europe but largely unsuccessful in North America. The "Touring" station wagon was sold in Europe from 1995, but was not available in the United States.
DOHC engines were used across the range (except in entry level models, see table below), with VANOS variable valve timing introduced in 1993. The 2.5 L M50B25 used in the 325i models was replaced in 1996 with the 2.8 L M52B28, creating the 328 line. Another 2.5 L I6 engine, the M52B25, was reintroduced for 1998 but badged as the 323i rather than 325i. Contents 1 International models 1.1 Saloons

M3 (1995-1999 coupe, 1997-1998 sedan, 1998-1999 convertible) S50B30US (1995) and S52B32 (1996–1999) [edit] Other platform applications 316 Coupe 1.6 L engine BMW made an entry level version of the E36 called the BMW Compact, a three-door hatchback. This platform is often referred to as the E36/5. In the United States/Canada market the car was sold as the 318ti and was equipped with a 1.8L I4, 139 bhp (104 kW; 141 PS) M42B18 engine and was priced at USD23,000 in 1995. In 1996 the 1.8 liter engine was replaced with 1.9L M44B19 putting out 142 bhp (106 kW; 144 PS) and 133 ft·lbf (180 N·m) of torque. Ostensibly due to slow US sales of the E36/5 Compact, the E46 Compact was not sold in the United States.
A modified version of the E36 platform designated as E36/7 was used for the BMW Z3 roadster in 1996-2002. The modification for the BMW Z3 Coupe was designated as E36/8.
Even though the BMW factory was producing its own E36 convertibles, the Baur "Top Cabriolet" conversion was still available, possibly out of respect for the long association of the two firms.

The 1998 24 Hours Nürburgring was won by a diesel for the first time - a BMW E36 320d, aided by its diesel engine requiring fewer fuel stops than rivals.[2][3]

Hallo, ja hatte ich mit 6000k. Diese wurden in neuen ZKW Scheinwerfern verbaut, zudem kamen noch CCFL/Neonstandlichtringe. It can add up to 11HP for only about $150 and installs in 30-45 minutes - really a must for every E36 owner. It also makes the car HOWL at high end but sounds normal at everyday driving.
