SMG (Sequential Manual Gearbox) is a modified manual gearbox, fitted with a hydraulic system and ECU that control the clutch and gear selector. It also has a `Sport` mode, which sets the throttle for quicker response and speeds up gear changes. BMW fitted this system to a very limited number of cars before finally fitting it to the M3 and M3 CSL! a 330i M Sport tourer, post facelift, built October 2001. It`s currently showing 158k (the photos are a month or so old). I`ve owned the car for very nearly 3 years, and I`ve put 40k miles on it in that time. The car is super reliable, has never let me down, and runs beautifully. She`s a fantastic car to drive, has all the power you could ever need, and as much practicality as you really need too. I have service receipts from my local garage for all the time I`ve owned it, and there`s a sheaf of bumph from previous owners as well.Options are as follows (I think I`ve got the original sales invoice somewhere, the new cost was well over £36k iirc) | Full black leatherElectric sports seats with memoryZenonsElectric sunroof.Trim is dark wood, unusual on a Sport.Other changes include:Carbon strut brace (fitted by previous owner)Powerflex bushesNew alloys, less than a year old. Supplied by BM Autosport, they are 18" e92 M3 replicas in black and chrome. There is a bit of kerbing on two of them, quite minor, I`ve photographed the two offending wheels, the other two are perfect.I`ve fitted a central single DIN conversion, but I`m not selling the head unit with the car. There`s a standard ISO connector behind there, and I can supply the factory unit with the car as well, but I`m leaving the single DIN mount in place. Also in the boot is the origianl CD changer, but this has never been connected in my ownserhip fo the car, so I can`t confirm whether ti works or not.I`ve replaced the central console with twin cupholders. It was originally a dock for a Motorolla V50 (also included!).Black kidneys. Chrome originals in the boot.De-badged at rear, the "330i" badges are in the glove box.Known issues:the beginnings of rust can be seen around the arches, presumably caused by the build-up of muck underneath. This is visible to the front of both rear arches, and to the rear of the front arches. None of this is anything other than cosmetic, and given the age and mileage of the car, I decided it wasn`t worth paying to get fixed, but if you have the skills, it should be fairly straightforward.Front discs are brand new, but rear disc wear indicator light is now showing, but they should be good for the MOT.Inpection service overdue.The car uses some oil. This is due to a minor leak somewhere, I`m told. I add about 1 litre of oil every 2-3k miles.A few parking scuffs and stone chips. Nothing outrageous for the age and mileage of the car.All four tyres will probably need replacing for the MOT (the rears may scrape through with an advisory, but the fronts certainly won`t). | The car is currently in Leicestershire, but will soon be back in Hertfordshire and available for viewings. No time waster please, I`m happy to show the car but if you want to drive it, I`ll need to see appropriate fully comp insurance for it. This is non-negotiable, and I reserve the right to refuse to allow anyone to drive it for any reason.
