Hello and welcome to the sale of this amazing Alpina C2 2.7. Opportunities to buy cars like this don`t come up very often. Admittedly C2 2.7`s do come ...> up for sale every now and again but I haven`t even seen another pre facelift chrome bumper model before (let alone one for sale) and cars this age in this condition are definitely the exception and not the rule. About 200 C2 2.7`s were made in total (understood to be approx 30 before the facelift), when you compare that to the many thousands of E30 M3`s produced this makes a far rarer and more exclusive prospect. They were also built right hand drive and UK supplied unlike the M3. Summary 81,500 genuine miles 1986 D Reg 2.7 litre straight 6 engine (210 BHP quoted when new) 5 Speed Manual 4 previous owners (last owned since 2000) Full Service History HPI Clear Full MOT Right hand drive Manual sunroof and windows Power Steering 3.25 Limited Slip Differential Remote central locking Electric automatic aerial Power Steering ABS CD Player with IPod, MP3, USB & Bluetooth connection Bluetooth Handsfree Phone Kit Clifford Cat 1 Alarm & Immobiliser with Insurance Certificate 16" Classic Alpina Alloy Wheels with correct offset 7j front and 8j rear Alpina (Boysen) exhaust manifold and system Alpina (Momo) 3 spoke steering wheel Alpina Wood Gear Knob Alpina Rear Wheel Arch Spats Alpina Boot Lip Spoiler Alpina Front SpoilerIs it a genuine Alpina?Might as well get this one out of the way, the answer is of course yes. I have the original bill of sale to back this up which shows a company director back in 1986 paying Sytner of Nottingham £7000 for the conversion. You could have bought a house back then for that money and it didn`t include the 325i Sport the car was based on! The build number is 0218 and the build plaque is still complete and in place in the car. I would of course understand a prospective purchaser wanting to make sure so I can provide the VIN, Engine and Reg numbers for anyone wanting to make their own enquiries. Is it original? We acquired this car after it had been in storage and declared off the road for 10 years so inevitably parts have had to be replaced but everything that makes this car a genuine Alpina is still in place such as the ECU, engine, suspension, steering wheel, gear knob, body kit, spoilers and wheels. Every replacement where original parts were not available has been as sympathetic as possible, for instance the rear section of the exhaust was badly deteriorated so a replacement stainless steel one was specially fabricated with the intention of being as close to the original as possible. What history have you got? This is perhaps one of the most impressive aspects of the car as everything is there! Original bill of sale, every MOT from the first to the last, a full service history, loads of tax discs, SORN Notices, invoices etc. There is even a letter from the son of one of the previous owners making arrangements to sell the car after his father had passed away! There is also a host of magazines and brochures, and the original hand books. The car has covered just over 80,000 miles which is backed up as genuine by the service history, previous MOT`s and NMR check done when HPI`d. What recent work has been completed? As with any 25+ year old car stored for 10 years, a certain amount of work was required to bring it up to the standard it deserves and this included: Major Service and re-commissioning including all fluids, plugs, filters and timing belt replaced, using only the best fully synthetic oils and genuine BMW coolant. These were run in for 1000 miles and then we replaced the oil, oil filter and fuel filter again. 4 brand new premium tyres and laser wheel alignment New fuel tank and pump New Clifford cat 1 alarm and immobiliser with proximity sensors Wheels professionally powder coated Underside fully under sealed New radiator New dash (no cracks) New brake discs and pads all round New stainless steel back box fabricated and fitted (based on the original) New Bosch battery with 4 year guarantee Chrome bumpers treated to prevent rust New rubber sunroof and window seals New front and rear window surround chrome effect trim Full paint and respray to the exterior and original Alpina stripes and decals replaced o Please note this wasn`t to hide a rotten car, there isn`t any filler hiding any horror stories .The original shell was solid and virtually rust free when we started but there were enough scratches and other imperfections to warrant the work. I have photos of the car before the paint to back this up and photos of the car during the work to show it was a quality job with all the glass, lights, bumpers, trim etc removed. The new metallic royal blue paint looks stunning in the sun and I`m sure anyone serious about buying the car would agree with the rationale and respect the quality of workmanship that`s gone into the final finish. Brand new clutch just before it went into storage and has therefore had very little use The car sailed through its first MOT for 10 years with the only advisory notice being for the cracking on the rear tyre sidewalls, these have since been replaced. I will put the car through another MOT test prior to completion of the sale as its current certificate is due to expire in March this year. Can I view the car? 5 Series E39 Silver 1997
We have for sale a now getting very rare BMW Alpina B10 V8.This car is the older shape E39 in fantastic condition for its 1997 age.The interior is full ...> black leather with wood trim complete with all of the standard luxuries as listed, heated memory seats, tiptronic, cd, etc etc, the list goes on. the best way to see the spec is Google the B10 4.6 V8. (Don`t get this mixed with the smaller 3.3l)?This car was unfortunately, involved in a rear end bump where as the insurance has made it a Cat D (uneconomic repair). Where as, i have had it repaired. It needed a new bumper and a bit of bodywork to the boot lid and trim. (i have photos to show the cosmetic damage it sustained!) The Insurance assessor informed me it was a matter of course to consider it a Cat D because of its age?? Anyway, its been repaired now to a very high standard and after the polishing looks better than before the bump.You can see the damage on pic 3 of the photos, maybe!MOT until November, and tax until AprilThe car has recorded 123000 miles which is not out of the average range with full service history from BMW and later a BMW specialist.I have nearly all of the mot Certs from new and every receipt that has been spent on this car. In fact i have a file full of bits and bobs from years back.Recent MOT, and some tax, just been serviced and has had a few other scuffs fixed whilst in the body shop.The car has recently had the inspection 2 at 112000 miles and front discs and pads changed at 118000 miles.The car is running on 4no Mitchelin Sport tyres in good condition with another full sized Alpina rim and Sport tyre in the boot.The radiator has been replaced the other day as a stone or other object punctured the Rad leaving a hissing sound. Brand new, including new Antifreeze etc.Ok, its a 4.6L V8! My wife is getting 21MPG urban alone. I get around 19MPG urban. This is the same as a 2.5L ford petrol Mondeo?The engine is super powerful and will rocket you to 175mph as claimed by BMW (when new) but i have never tried?There is so much to write about this car but you would not be looking if you knew nothing about these cars, its a £67000 car new in 97...!I am in a dilemma whether to sell this or keep it garaged for a few years as the value will soon rocket (as all decent highly desirable models do)??I have reduced the car to a buy it now of £3500.Absolute bargain, fantastic car that you will not be disappointed with.The car is valued around £6000 without the Cat D.Please call to view 07970 843150( The plate is not included in the sale)This car was advertised over the last week listing it as a Cat C, whereas it is actually a Cat D.
