The leak off pipes kept blowing off the pipes. Replaced them all, and the symptom persisted. I then decided to tie the pipes down with copper wire so they would stay on, they now last about a week and begin to seep. There must be a reason for this, but I am now thinking of replacing them with 3mm washer pipe and cable ties, do you think this is wise? Mods to the car include a twin tank with a looped return, veg oil in main tank and a HE just for the veg. Here it can dump fuel back into the return line which also is on the same fitting. Your looped return is interfering with the return from leak offs. 3mm washer pipe will not cut it,I tried it on mine when looking for air in the fuel,all that happens is the pipe enlarges when warm and you have fuel p*****g everywhere. Still they popped! It might be just as easy to throw in that second tank return and see what happens. Health and safety: 1.Biodiesel production is a potentially dangerous process and should only be undertaken by competent people. It is not suitable for unsupervised children etc. 2.Methanol has explosive vapors and is deadly poisonous. It burns with an invisible flame. 3.Sodium hydroxide/potassium hydroxide/caustic/lye will burn skin. Do not breathe in the dust. Animals will try to eat it as it smells of salt. 4.Concentrated sulphuric acid will burn skin and explode if water is added to it. 5.All these chemicals should be stored properly and kept away from children. 6.Most common serious accident: Processor blows up due to immersion heater being accidently switched on when empty.
