The car has been meticulously maintained since I have owned and have full documents and import records. that will be provided with the car and would prefer a good home for the vehicle. I currently have 6 cars in the drive (not a dealer) and most are 2 seaters, but when it snows (as you can see from the pictures it`s snowing again !) cannot get out, so unfortunately need a 4x4 and have just purchased one today so have to say fairwell to the BMW as my wife is putting her foot down on my car collection. The roof has no tears or damage and the rear screen is clear, MOT was November 2011 (no advisories), 158k documented miles, all records, the BMW tool kit is still under the trunk lid, i have the orginal BMW alloy wheels that will go on the (the tyres stiull have the paint bands around them (with zero miles use) the current wheels are Borbet A with Goodyear Eagle F1 tyres which have less than 1,000 miles on them and can be included at additional cost. The car is also fitted with a Viper Alarm and immobiliser with proximity module (the alarm can be used when the roof is down and if someone leans into the car it sets off teh alarm off, but wind does not. I have just spent £650 having the head gasket changed before it went, which also inclded a new water pump, the air conditioning blows cold, it has the original operation manual and the leather folder. The car runs extremely well and I would have no worry in jumping in it and driving the length of the country, of course as a california car, there is no rust whatsoever on the vehicle. 50,000 miles so the current engine has only done 27,000 miles. the reason the engine was fitted for free was because bmw provide a 100,000 mile warranty on there engines and this warranty is only valid if the vehicle gets serviced at bmw which it had been so there you go they fitted a new engine at no cost to the previous owner for being a loyal bmw service customer. BMW Service History to 100K miles, then independent, then enthusiast maintained (by myself) £x,000`s spent including new air suspension bellows @ 90K (with bill to prove) not to mention a £1,000 pound respray courtesy of Flash paints in Louth, new DISA valve, uprated cold climate breather system, oil filter housing gasket and new Maniverter (Manifold/Catalytic converter). MOT`d until 12/02/2013 (nearly 13 months) / Taxed until end of March `12. Manual gearbox (very hard to find - most are auto`s which are sluggish and very thirsty!) 3.0i Sequential Fuel injection (SFi) - 231bhp, 0-60 ~7 secs, top speed - 155mph!. Coupled with the manual box returns fuel economy figures similar to the 530d (with an Auto box). Maximum spec (minus telephone) including TV (non freeview but can be upgraded) and SAT NAV which includes updated firmware for `perspective` mapping and speed camera alerts. Full on-board computer and MID (Multi-information display) on dashboard. Genuine `M Sport` car - not a `SE wannabee` 151k miles, starts first time every time, goes like stink and is very economical for a 3.0i petrol - hell of a lot quicker and faster than a 530d (have owned both!) 2003 - one of the last E39`s - the best shape. | The plan was - to put this car through the MOT last year, then sell it before the tax expired, but when I got the pass certificate which only showed an advisory for the front pads, I found myself being unable to part with it. Last November the car has had 2 new rear wheel bearings fitted, and in December I fitted Piranha Black slotted/drilled brake discs all round + Mintex pads AND shoes. In January 2012 I booked the car in nearly 4 weeks early for the MOT (as I usually do!), and the car sailed through again, with an advisory for all 4 tyres, which are nearing their legal limit, and slight play (barely noticeable) in the rear suspension bushes. | I am an avid BMW enthusiast and car club member. In this time I have had no problems at all. There are a couple of very very small stone chips on the bonnet and the alloy wheels have some slight scuffs but nothing major for a car of its age (these were done before I owned it). Other than that the car is in good condition and just had a fresh MOT. The mileage is very low at just over 71,000 (see photos). Taxed until November 2011. Tested till the end of September 2012 This car is very economical returning around 38 MPG arournd town and 50MPG on long runs. I am only selling it due to the fact it seldom gets used as can be seen by the milage covered whilst I have owned it The mileage can be verified with the service book and previous MOT certificates. year. The engine is fabulous and is so quiet and burns no oil whatsoever. The cars also has a full service history with the service book up to date. The bodywork is excellent for the year with no dents. The interior is excellent too. Even the cills have not been painted as have most of the cars of this era. They are original grey. I have owned the car since 2009 and have have only done about 10K. Last May, I went to see a boat I was buying over 250 miles away and back in one day. The car never missed a beat on a journey of over 500 miles. Not bad going. The fuel economy on this model is good too with 35 being achievable on a run. The 323i of this era was known for good economy. The BHP is 179 although unlike a modern diesel, it need a few revs to get maximum performance.
